What began with one evening, one conversation, and a handful of young women learning hairdressing in a founder's own home has grown into a national movement for free artisanal training.

From a single salon in Takoradi to a network spanning every region of Ghana — about 2,000 masters and professionals now train the next generation, free of charge.

Nearly 4,000 young people have completed training, sat the NVTI exam, and received start-up support to launch a trade of their own — with 6,000 more currently in training.

Aseda Foundation is a non-profit that trains less privileged young people in a trade, certifies them nationally, and equips them with start-up support to launch independently — at no cost to the trainee.
